Abstract

Revitalisation of the Pokrok colony, Petřvald - community center and residential building as a new beginning for the site The work will be solved by the area of the former workers‘ colony Pokrok, which is located near the town of Petřvald. In the past, the colony was adjacent to the former Fučík mine and served as accommodation for its employees. Although it was housing for workers, we can talk about quality architecture, which is urbanistically based on the principle of the garden city. The author of this colony, as well as several others, is Oskar Schwer, who often participated in the design of individual houses. At present, the area is deserted, directly adjacent to the light industry complex and during its existence it has lost many houses and those that remain here are often in poor construction and technical condition. The aim of the diploma thesis is to bring new life to this area and to explore all the historical sources related to the development of the colony and to use the current natural and historical wealth, which is unique here. In my work I deal with the densification of the area, the use of existing courtyards and the creation of housing that will be suitable for this area, due to its location within the city. The last point of the work is to create a place that will be the community background of the area.
