Ochrana zdraví a bezpečnosti spotřebitele v právu EU

Abstract

My diploma thesis, which topic is "The Protection of consumer health and safety in the law system of the European Union" is focused on the overall protection of the consumer within the law system of EU with a special accent on the responsibility for the product and the general product safety.

The protection of consumer initially was not a part of the communitarian politics of the EU, but with the incremental development of the customs union, the necessity of consumer protection increased and the topic became one of the leading issues of the EU institutions. The consumer protection and safety is in present days guaranteed by many European directives and other, primary and secondary legislation.

The goal of my thesis is to specify the legal framework of the customer protection in the law system of the EU, to analyse the whole area of the responsibility for the product and to define the general responsibility for product with an emphasis on the possibilities of a decrease in the responsibility of the producers for the product. The diploma thesis will proof the existence of efficient tools which can be used to minimize the risks of the producers in the field of the responsibility for the product. The thesis will also demonstrate the general effort of the European Union to protect the consumer health and safety on a high level.
