Abstract

The main purpose of the bachelor's thesis is to describe each step in sample preparation. There is the advantages and disadvantages of each method emphasized . In the bachelor's thesis, there are different methods of sampling, grinding, preparation, polishing and etching of various materials portrayed. The section of the observation the sample under the microscope is described in detail. Furthermore, it is also possible to observe the various devices used in the production of metallographic specimens. Regarding the experimental part there is the classical procedures of sample preparation of carbon and stainless steels compared with procedures stated by the enterprise Struers.
