Abstract

This bachelor thesis focuses on the utilisation of rainwater in residential properties within the Czech Republic. The primary objective of this study is to evaluate the current possibilities of rainwater management. In addition, it investigates how water companies approach this issue, including whether and how they charge for the discharge of rainwater into the sewerage system. The study also maps the current legislation and available subsidy programs that support the careful and efficient management of this water. To this end, a questionnaire survey has been conducted among water companies to ascertain their approach to metering and potential charges for rainwater utilised by households. It also includes a specific example of a household where a system has been installed for the collection and technical use of rainwater, for example for watering or flushing toilets.
