Abstract

This diploma thesis focuses on a very important group of nickel alloys, namely on Ni-Al-Mo intermetallic alloys. The thesis presents the basic distribution of these alloys together with their properties. Ni-Al-Mo alloys are an object of interest for corporations and many experiments are being carried out to further increase mechanical properties. In practice, these materials are used where resistance to high temperature corrosion creep and high tensile or compressive strengths are required. The practical part focuses on comparing the influence of directional solidification and the change of chemical composition on the properties of Ni-Al-Mo based alloys in compression. For comparison were used as-cast and directionally solidification state samples with different amounts of Mo.
