Abstract
The goal of this work is to assess the system of selection and adaptation of employees in the environment University of Žilina, whether the current process of selection and adaptation is suitable and effective. The work shows the possible solution to the situation in case of irregularities. The first part deals with the theoretical definition and clarification of terms associated with the selection and adaptation of employees. The second part explains the methods and tools used in this work. Semi-structured interview was used to determine the situation of the selection process. A questionnaire containing questions related to their adaptation was sent to employees of University of Žilina. The third part deals with the results of the work. This part of the work is focused on the analysis of the environment in where the research was conducted and the research itself in the form of an interview with a personnel manager and heads of department as well as questionnaire surveys. The current situation in the selected area is evaluated on the basis of information obtained from interviews and questionnaire replies. The last part of the thesis is focused on the overall assessment of the results obtained. This section also gives concrete proposals to solve problem areas that could Žilina University applied in practice.
