Abstract
The content of this diploma thesis is the design and manufacture of a carbon fibre sports seat prototype. The introductory part of the thesis contains a summary of the current state of the construction and material solutions for sports seats in the automotive and motorsport industry. The following chapter contains an introduction to composite materials, their manufacturing methods and basic classifications. It also includes a search of the current legislation, addressing the rules and conditions for the approval of the component for road use, and the development of the sports seat prototype in compliance with these rules. In the practical part, the production of the prototype seat is described in full detail, including the creation of a 3D model, the mould, the lamination process and further manufacturing of the product. The production of the sports seat also includes the design and manufacture of the seat mounting system. At the end of the thesis, the production is evaluated and depending on the obtained knowledge the further direction of its development is recommended.
