Srovnání datových zdrojů o posledních zemětřeseních

Abstract

This bachelor thesis focuses on the comparison of two data sources about current earthquakes. One of the compared resources is a nonprofit organization ORFEUS and the second is the U.S. scientific agency USGS. The main aim of the thesis is to evaluate the sources in terms of scope, timeliness and stability. The introductory part of the thesis deals with the description of earthquakes. One of the important points of the thesis is the description of developed computer programs, which are used to store data from the RSS channel of project ORFEUS and from the Atom channel of USGS. Both programs are written in C# programming language. The stored data are then analyzed. In addition to the data analysis the thesis also describes other offered services.
