Abstract

This thesis focuses on the sources of water for fire fighting, i.e. fire hydrants and fire water tanks in the cadastral area of Žlutava municipality. In the first part of the thesis, the characteristics of Žlutava municipality are described in terms of its built-up area, civic amenities, municipal government, transport, and technical infrastructure. The following part describes already existing sources, identifies new ones, examines their parameters and assesses their current condition. The measurements include the capacity, hydrodynamic and hydrostatic pressure of fire hydrants. The measured results are compared with standard values and evaluated. The Bachelor's thesis proposes control mechanisms of water sources for fire fighting, as well as changes that should be made by the local government. Its data will be used to update the general binding rules of the municipality's fire code.
