Zakládání a zhodnocení staveb na různých geologických podložích pro použití brownfields

Abstract

This thesis deals with the foundation and evaluation of buildings on various geological substrates for their utilization as brownfields. The presentation of this work is divided into two parts in which the information about the issues concerning building foundations are consecutively investigated. The first part of the thesis deals with the definitions of the individually selected geological environs. These areas include those where anthropogenic landfill, limestone layers, gravel, areas affected by landslides as well as areas subjected to tunnel excavation in various rock substrate are to be found. The second part analyses twenty separate locations. This part focuses on possible problems in the foundation of buildings and evaluation of their solutions. The merit of this thesis lies in the lessons that can be learnt regarding the possible problems of selected fundamental geological environs in connection with the fact that geological or geotechnical surveys will be carried out in these areas in order to build a brownfield site.
