Abstract
The main aim of the bachelor's thesis is Social Security in the Czech Republic and the European Union. The theoretical part focuses on the definition of basic concepts related to social security and social policy. There were described development of social security in the Czech Republic before and after 1989. Were also selected main development documents that led to the creation of Social Security in the EU. The analytical part is focused on non-insurance social welfare system in the Czech Republic. The practical part is focused on the comparison of selected social benefits. Czech Republic, Slovak Republic and Austria are compared.
