Abstract

The search part of this work deals with actual problems of fine-grained metalline wastes coming up during iron production. Number of wastes comes up at recently used processing methods of pig iron and steel preparation and their recovery and efficiency cause problems to fabricators. These wastes contain besides iron also heavy non-ferrous metals such as zinc, lead, cadmium and number of others that negatively influence an environment. Their possible workability on the hydro- or pyrometallurgical way is complicated with regard to thermodynamic properties of individual elements. Three kinds of samples of fine-grained metalline wastes obtained from various companies were processed by pyrometallurgy in the experimental part. Experimental measuring were carried out at temperature cycles of 1150, 1050°C and 950 oC for 60 minutes in reducing atmosphere provided by blast-furnace coke. Products of sample reductions were taken away to the condenser. Based on chemical analysis of original samples, heat-treated samples and reduction product efficiency of reduction of individual metals was found out.
