Studie vybraných kulturních památek na poddolovaném území Karvinska

Abstract

This diploma thesis focuses on selected cultural and natural sites located within a subsidence-affected area of the Karviná region and in the close proximity of the ČSM Mine. The first part of the thesis is devoted to the natural conditions of the study area and includes a description of the Karviná district, geomorphology, climate, soil science, geology, engineering-geological regions, as well as fauna and flora. The second part contains the theoretical framework, focusing on the point impacts of mining subsidence on the surface and structures, the issue of subsidence trough formation, the impacts of mining activities in the Ostrava-Karviná Coal Basin, and the influence of subsidence on historical buildings. The third part is focused on the evaluation of the temporal development of subsidence in the area affected by mining at the ČSM Mine, including the classification of site categories. In this part, analyses were carried out based on data provided by the ČSM Mine. The fourth part deals with a detailed description of 28 selected sites within the Karviná area. These sites include religious buildings, castles, technical structures, and landscape features formed as a result of mining subsidence. Field measurements of the inclination of selected churches were conducted, and the results were used for their classification into categories based on horizontal inclination.
