Abstract
The aim of my thesis was to analyse the chosen competitive aqua parks in the Moravian– Silesian Region. The subject of my research was the Olesna Aqua Park, Ostrava – Jih Aqua Park and Aqua Park in Frenstat pod Radhostem. Regarding the analysis framework I evaluated the chosen criteria which were created mainly of the components of the service marketing mix.
The introductory part of my work is describing the entertainment industry in the Czech Republic. The following chapter comprises of the theoretical points which are related to the competition, services and benchmarking methods. In the chapter “The Characteristics of the Olesna Aqua Park and the local market” I mentioned the current state of the aqua parks and specifically described the effects of the external environment on the Sportplex company s.r.o. In order to evaluate the analysis and compare the criteria I chose the benchmarking method which deals with the quality management and aims for the improvement of work operations and output. By means of this method I acquired valuable information which I included in my recommendation and suggestions for this company.
The proposals for the Sportplex, s.r.o. were mainly concerned about the supplementary services which I recommend to extend in order to increase the appeal of this Aqua Park. With regards to the prices of offered services , promotion activities targeting the international clientele, the personnel, the environment and visit rate some minor comments were pointed out. In terms of processes I had objections to the fact that this aqua park still lacks the reservation system and noncash payment system.
