Abstract

The submitted dissertation is focused on the issue of defining an effective methodology for evaluating the benefits and impacts related to the introduction of smart materials to the market, especially in specific areas of technologically advanced production processes. As part of the solution to the dissertation, financial and non-financial indicators are examined and economically evaluated at various stages of the life cycle of the chosen smart material. The main goal of the dissertation is the definition of an economic model that reflects all the key factors of the market environment for the introduction of a new smart material into the market with an emphasis on the new legislative requirements of the EU. This model will offer a comprehensive solution to the issue related to the introduction of smart materials in order to streamline and refine the activities of research and manufacturing companies in the context of variability in the use of the investigated solution.
