Vliv vodního díla Šance na přírodu a obyvatele Beskyd

Abstract

In the presented thesis the impact of the dam Šance on people and nature is drawn. In the first part we get familiar with the Beskydy region, where this water work is located, in terms of natural conditions, which include information on geology, geomorphology, hydrology, climate conditions, ecosystems and history of settlement. The following section deals with characteristics of the dam, specifies dam site, structure and capacity of the dam and the process of its constructing. Next part introduces us to the impact on the people. This section includes information about the village Staré Hamry, repealed railway line Frýdlant nad Ostravici – Bílá, the dam as a source of drinking water and flood protection. Next part deals with important but extinct moor habitat Hutě pod Smrkem. The last part deals turism about dam Šance. The thesis is accompanied by pictures.
