Technologické možnosti úpravy a využití uhlí s vysokým obsahem minerálních příměsí nebo jílů s obsahem organické hmoty

Abstract

The diploma thesis deals with the technological modification and possibilities of using non-thermal coal, i.e. coal with a high content of mineral additives or clays with a high content of organic matter. Coal and clay samples were taken at two different mining sites (Sokolov Basin – Josef seam and Most Basin „North Bohemian Brown Coal Basin“ – ČSA quarry). Chemical leachate of ashes and calcined clays has shown that a higher concentration of the main and trace elements was achieved at a lower combustion or calcination temperature (800 °C), when no mullite (2Al2O3 SiO2) is formed and there is a sufficiently high content of the amorphous, more reactive phase. The occurrence of Ge and Li was proven not only in the Josef seam, but also in the ČSA quarry. In the underlying clay of the ČSA quarry with an Al2O3 content above 34 wt% and a TiO2 content of 5.8 wt. % REE content was detected, namely 650 ppm CeO2. Oxidation of FeS2 sulfides creates a strongly acidic environment with pH 3 and lower suitable for leaching of elements of interest.
