Abstract

The aim of my diploma thesis is to evaluate the development of the price of coal, with a focus on brown coal, where in the last point I will predict the development of this price. The diploma thesis is divided into a theoretical part, where I will deal with the past, present and future of coal. I will focus on the development of coal mining and reserves in the Czech Republic. In the next point, I will deal with pricing, the coal market and factors affecting coal prices. The second part is focused on the development of the price, on the evaluation of phase cycles and on the prediction of the further development of the price of brown coal on the market. Assessment of price correlation depending on natural gas prices, emission allowances and coal mining in the Czech Republic.
