Abstract
The main content of the diploma thesis is the measurement of Brillouin frequencies for various bends of different optical fibers. The measurement is performed by using a DSTS system, which works on stimulated Brillouin scattering. For this measurement it was necessary to construct a preparation, which would make it possible to measure the deformation of fibers at various bends. Four separate optical fibers were measured for eleven different radius bends, using three different fixing materials. This method allows to establish which optical fiber, when used at a properly chosen fixing material
and bend, can best be used as a sensor optical fiber. The measured results have been registered in table and graph form. The diploma thesis describes several cases of measuring and the results of repeated measuring using different values are listed in the annex of this diploma thesis.
