Abstract

This thesis deals with Inconel materials, their composition, microstructure and material properties. In the theoretical part, it focuses mostly on nickel superalloys and rotary swaging technology without any preheating. The aim of the practical part of this thesis is to determine a suitable technology for achieving required external diameter reduction of mineral insulated cable and to determine the influence of the heat treatment processing on the mechanical properties and the microstructure of the Inconel 600 superalloy. Mineral insulated cable is used for the production of thermocouple type N. This high temperature thermocouple is used in the automotive industry to evaluate the rapid change of exhaust gas temperature.
