Abstract
This bachelor thesis deals with the topic of the possibility of removing nickel from aqueous environment by using ashes produced from plant biomass incineration.
The characteristics of biomass ashes, predominantly perceived as waste, are described in the theoretical part of this thesis. This part also deals with the toxic adverse effects of nickel in water, including the most commonly used methods of removing it from the water.
Concerning the experimental part of the work, a model nickel water and the biomass ashes were used. In order to calculate and evaluate the efficiency of the removal process of nickel from the model water by biomass ashes, the concetration of nickel was determined after the contact with biomass ashes. The highest efficiency was achieved while the concertation was 0.4 grams of ash per 100 ml of water nickel with the result of 99.67%.
