Abstract

The Thesis presented deals with the presence of oil substances in mine waters of the ČSM Coal Mine. The first part focuses on characteristics of the ČSM Coal Mine and on the issue of mine waters in general. The next chapter deals with the effect of oil substances on the environment. It is followed by a part that refers to sources of oil substances in mines, handling them, methods and means of their disposal. The next two chapters evaluate the volumes of pumped mine waters, undissolved substances and non-polar extractable substances. It is followed by the possibilities of disposal of oil substances from mine waters in the future. The last chapter shows how economically challenging the disposal of oil substances from mine waters was in the ČSM Mine in 2009. Finally it can be stated that oil substances are very dangerous for the environment and environmental protection is our duty even though it is very challenging economically.
