Abstract

The thesis is focused on the production of high alloyed steel with controlled reduction of slag in the electric arc furnace intensified. In the prologue describes the technology used to manufacture stainless steel, together with the issue of decarbonization alloys containing chromium. Further, it addresses the fundamental practices and increasing the efficiency of procedures, including current knowledge of world literature. The experimental part deals with the evaluation during the reduction of Cr2O3 from slag. The aim of the experiment was to study the behavior of Cr2O3 and increasing the content of chromium in the melt together with the reduction mechanism using two reducing agents and combinations thereof.
