Analýza dovozu oděvního zboží do České republiky z vybraných zemí

Abstract

This thesis focuses on the analysis of imports of clothing goods into the Czech Republic from selected countries in the period 2015-2021. Its main objective is to assess the volume of imports, identify the main import partners and compare the development of imports with domestic production. In terms of research questions, the thesis addresses whether the importance of the garment industry in the Czech Republic is increasing or decreasing, and whether imports of garments are affected by international agreements. These questiones are examined in detail in both the theoretical and practical sections. The theoretical section discusses key concepts of foreign trade and provides academic background through a study of the literature. It also includes an analysis of the apparel market in the country, which is examined using PESTLE and Porter's analysis. The practical part analyses secondary data from the CSO and Eurostat and uses share values, correlation analysis and the Herfindahl-Hirschman index. The paper concludes with a discussion of the findings and proposes recommendations using SWOT analysis.
