Abstract
This final BA paper process the entry of the Slovak Republic into the eurozone. The first part focuses on the development of the Economic and Monetary Union (EMU). The second chapter deals with the preparation process of the Slovak Republic for the entry into the eurozone and with the aspects connected with this entry. In particular, the implementation of the Maastricht criteria and the final entry of Slovakia into EMU. The final chapter assesses the macroeconomic effects of the introduction of the euro in the economy and price developments after the adoption of the euro in the Slovak republic.
