Abstract

This thesis focuses on the design and implementation of a system for displaying physical quantities on a circular display device. The theoretical part discusses principles of data visualization, including differences between analog and digital representation, the use of color, and the importance of the user’s mental model. It also analyzes available display technologies, communication interfaces, and hardware platforms suitable for system implementation. In the practical part, a system utilizing a selected control unit, sensors, and a circular display is designed and implemented. Various methods for visualizing physical quantities were developed, including temperature, relative humidity, device orientation, and atmospheric pressure. The proposed visualization methods were subsequently evaluated in terms of readability and clarity. The results show that the suitability of a visualization method depends on the nature of the measured quantity and the requirements for its interpretation. In some cases, a combination of analog and digital elements proved to be an effective solution.
