The theme of this bachelor’s thesis is the ballistic resistance of selected materials against the penetration by fired bullets. The resistance was determined in the course of experiments described in the practical part of this work. The introduction outlines the theory of ballistics, which directly connected with the experimental part of the work. The practical part of the thesis presents the experiments carried out to determine the ballistic resistance of the selected materials. The examined materials were selected on the basis of their frequent use in the households and their availability in the Czech Republic. The USP Expert semi-automatic pistol and 9mm Luger ammunition were chosen to test the materials, because they are commonly used by the Czech citizens as well as the armed forces of the Czech Republic. The executed experiments are evaluated and compared with previously published test results in the conclusion.
