Abstract

This thesis deals with microstructural and fatigue characteristics of stainless steel AISI 316L prepared by 3D printing process. The aim of this thesis is to characterize the impact of the applied 3D printing technology on the microstructure and fatigue properties of the AISI 316L steel. The theoretical part is devoted to 3D printing and its technologies, focusing on SLM technology, influence of SLM technology preparation on properties of metallic materials, microstructural and fatigue properties of austenitic stainless steels processed by conventional methods. The practical part is focused on description of used test samples, their metallographic analysis and fatigue testing. All the knowledge is then summarized at the end, and there is also a space for further discussion.
