Abstract
This diploma thesis deals with increasing the visibility and it’s connected with safety of pedestrians at crosswalk by using designed lighting systems as well. There are three control measurements performed in this thesis. One of them is based on the design of the lighting system in the ReluxPro calculation program.
In this thesis, horizontal illumination is evaluated for each of the crosswalks, and the average vertical illumination of the crosswalk is maintained for the given driving direction, supplemented by the maintained uniformity of illumination for each part of the pedestrian crossing. Luminance images were taken on two of the controlled pedestrian crossings from which the luminance analysis was also evaluated at the crosswalk when the pedestrian crossed over the pedestrian crossing. Luminance analysis is made by using the LMK LabSoft software. All measurements and subsequent evaluation are carried out on the basis of norm ČSN 36 0455, more precisely the TKP 15 Supplement No. 1.
This thesis also highlights the frequent mistakes that are needed to be avoided for the correct design of the lighting system for illuminating crosswalks.
