Abstract
The goal of bachelor thesis was to describe the living conditions of seniors living in Czech Republic and to focus especially on their free time activities as well as on the possible ways of their media literacy development. Thesis is divided into three chapters. The first one is dedicated to the theoretical formulation of basic terms such as old age, active ageing or media literacy. In the next part, concrete possibilities of the development of seniors' free time activities in the city of Ostrava are described as well as the possibilities of development of their media literacy. The conclusion of this chapter deals with the proposal of media literacy course for seniors. The last chapter is focused on the solution of given issue in media.
