Abstract
Diploma thesis deals with solution of the issue dispersions in optical communication networks. In the thesis is presented a theoretical description of the optical network their structure and division. The work is mainly focused on the description of dispersion phenomena in optical communications and the method of their suppression and compensation. Furthermore, there is an overview of modulation formats and their comparison based on dispersion tolerance. The practical part deals with simulations of modulation formats for DWDM-PON network in software Optiwave OptiSystem. The simulations examines the robustness of basic and advanced modulation formats for dispersion phenomena depending on the transmission speed and optical path length. Individual simulations are implemented for different optical fibers and methods for chromatic dispersion compensation. The last part is a summary and comparison of simulated results in terms of the optical fiber.
