Stanovení vybraných organických polutantů v kalech z komunální čistírny odpadních vod

Abstract

The first part of the thesis describes the theoretical operation of a wastewater treatment plant and the formation of sludge. In the practical part, concentrations of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and polychlorinated biphenyls were measured in three samples of sewage sludge. The obtained results were compared with current legislation regarding their use in agriculture. Samples of sludge from one wastewater treatment plant were submitted for analysis, taken from three technological stages of water treatment. It was found that samples after thickening contained higher amounts of the monitored substances than before this technological process. Monitoring the content of these substances is important due to their adverse effects on human health and the environment, and the results of this work help to better understand the behavior and transfer of these substances in sewage sludge.
