Abstract

The thesis is devoted to waterworks in the area of Krušné hory mouintains and adjacent parts of the Most basin. The text briefly depicts the landscape and situation typical for the era of building these waterworks. It explains reasons of their realization and their supposed functions. Particular waterworks are characterized in detail – from their precious location and technical parameters to their importance for today. These small dams, together with their technical background, represent significant tourist atractions. In future, they should become regular technical landmarks and permanent reminders of the fact that human activities in nature are not devastating only
