Zhodnocení obchodní spolupráce mezi MERCOSUR a Evropskou unií

Abstract

The aim of the bachelor thesis was to evaluate the trade relations between the integration organisation MERCOSUR and the European Union. The theoretical part of the bachelor thesis is focused on the description of developing countries and their classification by international organizations. In the thesis, the member countries of MERCOSUR are economically characterized. Furthermore, the thesis describes the integrations that have been formed in Latin America up to the creation of the MERCOSUR integration organization itself. Finally, the theoretical part describes the relationship between MERCOSUR and the European Union. In the practical part, an analysis of the trade relations between selected MERCOSUR countries and the European Union for the period from 2013 to 2023 was carried out. The analysis was made by comparing exports and imports of products classified into commodity groups, according to the Standard International Trade Classification (SITC). The data was drawn from the statistical database of the international organisation UN Trade and Development (UNCTAD). Thanks to the analysis carried out, it was found that among the MERCOSUR countries, Argentina and Brazil traded the most with the European Union. The most exported products from the selected MERCOSUR countries were food and live animals, non-edible raw materials, except fuels and mineral fuels, lubricants and related materials. From the European Union, the groups of machinery and transport equipment, chemicals and related materials, not elsewhere specified and marketable products classified by material were the most imported to the selected MERCOSUR countries.
