Abstract
This thesis is solving a possibility of dephosphorisation of pig iron for steelmaking (PI), type Pig-P2 with high phosphorus content, with the aid of powdered sodium carbonate (Na2O3). The theoretical part describes procedures used for reducing the phosphorus content in PI with high content of P. The experimental part of thesis describes the technologies for reducing phosphorus content in the PI Pig-P2, intended for the manufacturing of castings from high-quality graphite cast irons. Tests took place in the foundry laboratory of VŠB-Technical Univerzity of Ostrava and in the working conditions of the foundry ArcelorMittal Engineering Products Ostrava, s.r.o. (AMEPO s.r.o.).
