Abstract

In this thesis we discuss problems of discretization of 2-Dimensional domains using the level-set method. The advantage of this approach is that the domain is defined implicitly. The aim of the thesis is partly to more deeply explain principals of the level-set methods and to outline 2 methods to solve partial differential equations: the finite element method and the boundary element method. We will show the results on a sample of elementary and more complicated domains.
