Abstract
The aim of this bachelor´s work is approach ethics, focusing on
information ethics. Information ethics applies to people who work
with information. This may be especially information workers,
journalists, librarians, etc. Its origins can be found in antiquity, in the
antiquity was characterized as freedom of speech, in the modern era
was characterized as the freedom of press and now it´s free access to
information.
Information ethics is now regarded as perhaps the fastest growing
professional section. In a broad sense it includes the whole area of
informatics and computer industries, but also librarianship, archival
science, journalism, publishing and many others. In a way, in the
information sector moves each of us: everybody is participate in the
process of collecting, managing and mostly transfering information.
Information practice is actually full of ethical problems, which I deal
in my bachelor´s work.
The first chapter deal with the beginnings of information ethics, its
intentions and consequences of breach, farther problems related to
information ethics and codes of ethics in information ethics. In the
chapter are introduced the troubled cases of IE, such as the right to
information, protection of trade secrets, or freedom of speech.
In the second chapter are analyzed the ethical rules in the Internet
environment.
In the third part described the use this issue in the media, the third
part includes interview, questionnaire and article.
