Abstract
The diploma thesis deals with the assessment and evaluation of both stages of Uslava’s sewer. At the outset, the thesis alludes to the history of the sewer lines in Pilsen and the current needs of the newly created drainage of the city. The entire project is an interesting by using of a trenchless technology, particularly by microtunnelling. The thesis describes in detail the principle of this method and it explains its advantages and disadvantages. Next chapter is a description of both stages in terms of engineering geology survey with emphasis on the specific requirements for microtunnelling technology and geotechnical survey. Both stages are separately analyzed and important part of the thesis is the comparison of the both stages in terms of used technology, geological environment and the method of implementation. Diploma thesis includes a chapter dealing with the economics of the project, which compares the costs for the possibility of implementation an open construction trench and the trenchless technology. The aim of the thesis is to give a comprehensive picture of the varying geological conditions, risk associated with floods and propose measures leading to minimize financial losses.
