Abstract
Nowadays the issue of RES is widely discussed in the world. The first place among them in the Czech Republic is bioenergy, which uses biofuels in solid, liquid and gas phases. This thesis is about biomass in general, how it can be obtained, what chemical compositions and energy parameters it has. Methods of determination of these parameters in biofuels according to the relevant ČSN, their comparison with fossil fuel standards and an overview of instrumental techniques for these methods are presented here. In this thesis are also mentioned processes of biomass energy utilization. At the end of the work is introduced not very well known substance - biocoal. There are described its properties, possibilities of use and examples of analysis. In the practical part of the thesis, the determination of selected energy parameters in several different biofuel samples was performed. At the end of this section is a comparison of these parameters and an assessment of whether these types of biofuels are suitable for thermal treatment.
