Abstract

This dissertation focuses on the issue of rural development, while the introductory chapters emphasize the very definition of terms, the delineation of rural areas and typology. This is followed by a discussion focused primarily on the potential of rural development in the defined area (Osoblažsko) and subsequently tries to find the factors that have a strong influence on it. The primary goal is to find mutual links between individual factors, whether for example physical-geographical or socio-demographic, which can have a significant influence on the very development of municipalities in the region under study.
