Abstract
This work deals with the protection of concrete structures in the interspaces of industrial chimneys, against the effect of aggressive condensate.
The theoretical part of the thesis describes the structural arrangement of industrial chimneys, including the sorting, classification of the technology of the protective layer of the chimney into a contact case and an offset protective case with an intermediate space. The course of chemical degradation of concrete, mainly caused by sulfates, is also discussed in the theoretical part. Currently used flue gas cleaning technologies have a negative effect on the chimneys themselves and their operation.
The experimental part itself is divided into two parts. In the first stage of the experimental part, a detailed survey of several selected chimneys with a similar type of operation was carried out, where findings were summarized both on the basis of a visual inspection and on the basis of laboratory tests.
In the second stage of the experimental part of the work, based on the findings from the survey, mixtures are designed for the protection of exposed concrete structures in the intermediate spaces. These were tested both in a laboratory conditions and also directly in the real environment of industrial chimneys.
