Ostrava, 2024. 102 p. Diploma thesis, supervisor Ing. Stanislav Lichorobiec, Ph.D. The diploma thesis deals with the security study of the threat to the Olomouc train station by stored IED. The first part of the diploma thesis deals with legislation and the improvised explosive devices. The following part are world events from history including the improvised explosive device, the profile of the attacker, procedur efor detecting a suspicious object and the effects of the explosion on building structures. In the next part it deals with the description of the building of the Olomouc main railway station, risk analysis and the calculation of the effects of the explosion on the building structures of the most risky places. The final part of the thesis are proposals for measures to minimize the risk of placing an improvised explosive device and its initiation.
