Abstract

In the submitted dissertation is a description of the E*STAR electronic detonator – construction, workflow, comparison with other detonator types. The latter part of the dissertation focuses on field application of E*STAR detonator and its effect on blast realization and results. The field application of E*STAR contains description of blast analysis and procedures, which are needed to achieve optimal blast results. Also included in the dissertation is a summary of new trends, standards of blast designing and a detailed description of a new nonelectric detonator designed for reduction of plastic residues in muck pile.
