Dostupnost vybraných pobytových sociálních služeb pro seniory v Moravskoslezském kraji

Abstract

The thesis deals with the evaluation of selected types of availability of residential social services for the elderly in the Moravian-Silesian Region in the period 2010-2020, especially old folks´ homes. The theoretical part of the thesis focuses on the issue of old age and ageing. It deals mainly with the availability of selected types of social services for the elderly in the Region. The aim of the thesis is to determine the availability of selected types of residential social services for the elderly in the Moravian-Silesian Region. The thesis consists of two parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part introduces and explains the basic and thematic areas that are intertwined in the thesis. These are the issues of old age, ageing and life in old age and the issue of life crises and their possible solutions. It deals with the process of ageing and its aspects, defines the concept of old age and determines the different forms of old age. It focuses in detail on old people´s housing and the process of moving into a residential facility. The practical part of the thesis consists of research and a survey. Two perspectives, qualitative and quantitative, have been chosen to research the topic. The mathematical-statistical method of realizing horizontal comparative analysis, time series method, financial analysis method and questionnaire technique. The data was obtained by using a questionnaire of own design. The questionnaire contains a total of 33 survey questions. The research population consisted of 50 respondents from two old folks´ homes. The collected data is statistically evaluated, and the results are represented in tables and clear charts. The result of the thesis is that old age pension (State Pension) increases year by year and old folks´ homes are affordable in financial terms. In terms of the availability of residential facilities, the number is increasing slightly but disproportionately with the increase in the 65+ component. As a result of the survey, it was found that clients of old people´s homes were aware of the options in the facility, in terms of time and capacity it was sufficient for the clients. This work highlights the challenging process of moving to a residential facility for the elderly. The research findings can serve as a basis for further studies on the topic, could be used as teaching material, and may also be of benefit to the staff of old folks´ homes and the families of the elderly.
