Abstract

This thesis describes the virtualization technologies, with a priority focus on virtualization of desktop personal computers (desktops), in the environment of the Litomerice Town Council. It describes the most common used technology for desktop virtualization and develops the methodology for establishing the electricity consumption of desktops, using a specific measuring sample and subsequent calculation of total consumption. The next section is elaborated analysis of information on the types and numbers of defects reported to the Department of Informatics by intranet helpdesk. From these documents it is described in the conclusion of a possible procedure in question desktop virtualization workplaces that is available at a further decision by the Authority.
