Abstract
The diploma thesis deals with the design of storage for microgrid. The introductory chapter describes renewable energy sources and their percentage share in electricity generation in the Czech Republic for the year 2022. The second chapter is devoted to photovoltaics, it contains a description of the main source for photovoltaics – the Sun. It then discusses the history, distribution of photovoltaic panels and their basic structure. The next chapter focuses on hydroelectric power plants in the Czech Republic, the basic principles and the distribution of individual turbines. The fourth chapter deals with storage systems, their basic parameters and distribution. It mentions electrochemical storage systems and gives more detailed information on lithium-ion batteries. The practical part of the thesis deals with the design of the storage system, including a description of the microgrid and five possible design options for storage units. The variants are sized with respect to different possibilities, e.g. maximum possible battery capacity or average production values. The different methods are evaluated in the conclusion of the thesis.
