Abstract

Due to dwindling oil reserves, growing concern about the environment, there is a growing interest for new cheaper and less harmful fuels for motor vehicles. Therefore, this thesis is focused on the exploration of petroleum and alternative fuels and the subsequent selection of a suitable alternative for 48 vehicles in Arcelor Mittal Ostrava - company. Economic analysis was conducted for two fundamental fuel alternatives, which are suitable for use in spark-ignition engines(LPG and CNG). From these fuels, thanks to economic evaluation, was the natural gas the more preferable.
