Abstract
This thesis is focused on the study of a well accident with oil spills. The causes and consequences of specific example leaks are discussed in detail. The work contains data on the causes of emergency situations and the consequences of such disasters. In this work is also talking about the methods of disposal of oil spills: 1) mechanical, 2) chemical, 3) biological, 4) burning on site. Detailed information about the performed laboratory experiment is provided.
A large part of this work consists of chapters on well accident examples and a laboratory experiment. The practical part describes in detail the experiment, which was realized to check the adsorption efficiency of the clay mineral, vermiculite, whose application in offshore oil spills is constantly growing. It is an effective adsorbent and an environmentally friendly mineral. A detailed description of the experiment and interesting results are also given in that part. The evaluation tables of the imitation remediation of oil spills from the water surface at different concentrations of leaked oil, the ratios of the used adsorption material to the contaminant can be found in the appendix.
