Abstract
The aim of this bachelor thesis is, firstly, to find out if the procedures of the company ČD Cargo, Ltd. connected with mass dismissals of the employees aren't contrary to the given legal norms. Secondly, dealing with the situation which has arisen in connection with the worldwide financial crisis is assessed. In the theoretical part the ways of employment termination are described as well as the conditions of mass dismissals, the cooperation between the employer and the labour union, or works council if that exists, the cooperation with appropriate employment office. Their legal regulations are also characterized. Last but not least, the reimbursement of the employees affected is mentioned together with the consequences of mass dismissals. In the practical part, the situation of the company ČD Cargo, Ltd. which led to the intention to realise mass dismissals is analysed, their courses of action and subsequent negotiations with union organisations as well as with the relevant employment office. The methods used by the company are then compared with the methods according to legal norms and my own consideration is applied to the evaluation of the measures which the company ČD Cargo, Ltd. directed at settling up the unfavourable situation caused by the crisis, which affected the whole transport market
