Abstract
This work deals with preparation and characterization of zinc oxide nanoparticles, nanocomposite particles of zinc oxide/vermiculite and zinc oxide/vermiculite/chlorhexidine, which are prepared by ultrasonic synthesis.
Phase analysis of prepared nanomaterials has been performed using X-ray diffraction (XRD). The structural analysis has been performed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). In the case of samples with chlorhexidine, the samples have been analyzed for total carbon concentration (TOC). Particle size distribution and Zeta potential analysis has been analyzed. The evaluation of stability tests was based on the release of functional elements of prepared nanomaterials into four types of solutions simulating human body fluid.
